Ten Companies Selected for 2016 Venture Hive Winter Accelerator

Miami -– After receiving hundreds of applicants throughout the world, 10 technology startup companies have been selected to participate in Venture Hive’s 2016 Winter accelerator class.

The Venture Hive accelerator is founder-friendly, 12-week accelerator program focusing on individual development and supports global, disrupt-the-industry visions.  The companies selected focus on one of four industry verticals of the Miami-Dade area: tourism/hospitality, healthcare, creative industries, and trade/logistics.

Benefits of participating in the program include a $25,000 non-equity grant, a world-class curriculum of highly practical workshops and training session, free working space in Venture Hive’s 35,000-square-foot building in downtown Miami for six months, exposure to qualified investors and a Demo Day at the conclusion of the program. This intensive structured program will also provide the selected businesses with access to a dedicated group of business coaches and mentors, highly customized training and a relevant network to scale their ventures, driving the economic growth of the region.

The Venture Hive accelerator class will run from Feb. 29 through the week of May 16. The ten selected companies are:

Whimzy (Miami, FL) – A company dedicated to creating products and brands that foster joy, creativity, learning, and development in children and producing products that are fun and useful for a child or parent. Their first line, HeroBoys is meant to specifically address the lack of thoughtful, meaningful superhero related content for young children (ages 4-9).

Big Propeller (Miami, FL) –  A company designed to help agencies and brands to better manage their social media content workflow, especially when collaborating with stakeholders and clients.

Datil (Guayaquil, Ecuador) – A company that builds digital tools to make commerce simple and sustainable for micro, small and medium businesses. By using simple point of sale, accounting and e-billing applications together with legally complaint digital certificates, they help SMBs build a trusted digital record of their business with which they can access paperless, personalized business loans and factoring services.

SmartLoc (Miami, FL) – An asset-tracking company whose core product LugLoc will let you know the location of your device anytime and anywhere. It utilizes both GSM-GPRS and Bluetooth BTE technology to provide you with the location of your device.

OneClickShip (San Francisco, CA) –  A web-based platform that empowers small businesses to take control of their global supply chain. By taking control of their supply chain, small businesses take control of their profits.

Wayniloans – A P2P lending platform based on blockchain technology for Latin American and US Hispanic market. In order to bring access to credit for the unbanked and youngest people who doesn’t have a relation with traditional banking institutions, Wayniloans works in financial solutions more efficient and transparent for borrowers and lenders.

Webee (Córdoba, Argentina)- The first truly smart home system that goes beyond simple home automation and remote control, to provide the first hub that is also an entertainment box, which learns from users and programs itself.

Einsof Biohealth (Miami, FL) – A biotech company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel, proprietary therapies and OTC products. Their main product Speedlyte is an Oral Rehydration Solution.

Cetus Labs (Miami, FL) – A tech company that builds and sells software to simplify and streamline port terminal operations. Their first product is a Terminal Operating System.

Asombro Extremo Digital (Buenos Aires, Argentina) – The first company founded by professional illusionists and technology experts with the objective to create the most stunning technological campaigns designed to communicate ideas in an amazing way.
